Service Can Be Fun, Too
First Flight High School students taking the AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) elective, taught by Lisa Duke, were visited by Denise DePedro prior to the Saturday, November 8 Kelly Hospitality Group Fun Run. Community service is an important component of AVID, and DePedro, as activity coordinator for the Fun Run was happy to brief Duke's students on available volunteer opportunities with crafts and other activities surrounding the event. In addition to helping out, several students participated by running in the Fun Run.
