At the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year, First Flight High School journalism student and photographer, junior James Seal, agreed to take photos at the Wright Brothers monument for consideration for the cover of Dare County Schools ninth annual report. There was never a shadow of doubt that James' single submission was the perfect cover shot. When he found that the superintendent of schools had interest in acquiring rights to the photo, James decided to make it a gift to Dr. Burgess and Dare County Schools. At the June 8 Board of Education meeting at First Flight Middle School, James presented a signed print to Dr. Burgess to "seal the deal." In turn, James received a certificate of appreciation from the Board. From left, Board member Margaret Lawler, Superintendent of Schools Dr. Sue F.
